National Instruments cDAQ-V1100 CompactDAQ Voltage Measurement Bundle
The National Instrument cDAQ-V1100 (Part Number: 865683-01) is a complete measurement system intended for solid voltage acquisition suitable for industrial and laboratory conditions. As an integral system, the whole system will be designed around the three main hardware components. The cDAQ-9171 chassis is a one-slot, bus-powered chassis that acts as the hub for system operation and communication. It allows high-speed USB 2.0 communication to a computer and provides timing and synchronization for the modules connected to it. The cDAQ-9171 can also operate various data streams, both analog and digital.
The main component part of the package is the NI-9205 C Series voltage input module. This module provides high-accuracy analog measurements, which use 16-bit resolution, across 32 single-ended or 16 similar differential channels. The input range is a large one in terms of instantaneous requirements for voltage communication of ± 200 mV to ± 10 V. The overall maximum aggregate sampling rate is 250 kS/s. A feature of this module is its voltage on the channel-to-earth isolation barrier, and this provides protection to the operator and provides good noise performance in electrically noisy environments. The module has also marginally provided protection from overvoltages, guarding against transient voltage spikes.
Included in the package is the backshell of the cRIO-9940 module. This is an important accessory for applications requiring the spring-terminal connector on the NI-9205. The backshell provides good strain relief for the wires connected to the modules, making connection techniques more reliable and substantial. It performs, more critically, an operator protection function as it isolates the user from accidental contact with high-voltage signals, making the entire equipment safer for duty by their use in industrial situations. This whole system must be regarded as ideally suited for a wide spectrum of tasks for voltage measurement, from simple benchtop validations to embedded laboratory environments for a wide range of sensors and other types of signal acquisition, providing a reliable means of measurement for signal and sensor data.
